If you are moving to La Follette with kids, the school picture is straightforward: one county district, neighborhood schools in town, and a comprehensive high school a short drive away. I am April Lester, Principal Broker and Co-Owner of Real Estate Concepts, and I work with relocating families in Campbell County every month. Here is what you need to know.
La Follette is served by Campbell County Public Schools, headquartered in Jacksboro. It is a county-wide district covering La Follette, Jacksboro, Jellico, Caryville, and the surrounding communities. In-town families get neighborhood elementary and middle schools; high schoolers attend the county's comprehensive high school.
LaFollette Elementary School (PK-5) — The in-town elementary for La Follette families.
Valley View Elementary School (PK-5) — Serves parts of La Follette depending on your address. Check your zone.
LaFollette Middle School (6-8) — The in-town middle school.
Campbell County Comprehensive High School (9-12) — The county high school in nearby Jacksboro. Athletics, career and technical programs, and the full high school experience a short drive from La Follette.
Private options — Calvary Christian Academy and the Christian Academy of Campbell County serve local families who prefer private education.
Elementary zoning matters in town. LaFollette Elementary versus Valley View depends on your street. Verify with the district office.
High school means Jacksboro. It is a normal, short commute — but factor the drive into your mornings.
Tour before you commit. Visit the actual schools, meet the staff, and see the fit for your kid. Ratings tell part of the story; a walk-through tells the rest.
